- Sony has offically announced PlayStation 3 120GB [aka PS3 Slim] at Sony GamesCom briefting. The new model will have a 120GB hard drive, and it will be 32% smaller, 36% lighter and 34% less power consumption than current model. It will launch in the first week of September, for $299 / €299 / 29980 yen.

Dopo rumor su rumor ecco arrivare la presentazione più scontata della storia. Durante la conferenza stampa al Gamescon, Hirai, presidente di Sony Entertainment ha ufficilamente presentato la PS3 slim, design semplice, forse fin troppo, più leggera, più piccola e con una nuova architettura che garantirà un risparmio energetico del 34% in meno rispetto alla PS3 attuale. Al suo interno monterà un HD di 120 GB e costerà "solo" 299 euro e uscirà il primo Settembre. Anche la vecchia versione subirà lo stesso taglio di prezzo. La sfida a Nintendo e Microsoft è ufficilamente aperta.
