Microsoft's X10 event kicked off earlier today, with major announcements made for several Xbox 360 games. While their understandably wasn't much of interest for PS3 fans, Capcom did announce the release date for Dead Rising 2 at the event.
Dead Rising 2 is current scheduled to hit North America on August 31, and while skip across the pond to Europe one week later. The game centers around a new protagonist in an old scenario - the dead have risen once again, and Chuck must find some way to survive. Dead Rising 2 also features a franchise first multiplayer game mode, putting contestants through an American Gladitor-styled series of events.

Sebbene l'annuncio sia arrivato durante un evento esclusivo Microsoft, Capcom ha annunciato che Dead Rising 2 sarà disponibile per Xbox 360, e presumibilmente anche per PlayStation 3, a partire dal 3 settembre.
Contemporaneamente, la software house nipponica ha anche rivelato Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, prologo che arriverà in esclusiva per Xbox 360, che fungerà da ponte narrativo tra i due capitoli.
Il titolo, che arriverà su Xbox Live Marketplace come contenuto scaricabile, sarà disponibile a partire da agosto e, stando a quanto riferito dagli sviluppatori, non è da intendersi come parte di Dead Rising 2, ma come un prodotto unico e completo.
