Sega recently released Yakuza 3 in Japan at the end of February. The title was an instant hit, selling over 300K copies it's first week and single-handedly starting the PS3's 2 month long streak of being the region's top selling game console.
However, Sega isn't planning on giving the notorious Kiryu a break. The latest issue of the weekly Famitsu confirms a new Yakuza game is in development. Details are still slim, with only scans of the magazine cover available at the moment, but it's been confirmed that the next entry into the series will be on the PS3. The game will be prequel, showing a younger Kazuma Kiryu. Toshihiro Nagoshi also seems to be returning to the producer's chair as well.
Now someone's just gotta light a fire under Sega's ass and get them working on a localization of Yakuza 3...
